FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about Secretarial & Administration
A few of the questions we’re often asked about how our Secretarial & Administration service works.
What types of administrative tasks can you take off my hands?
Support can include managing patient enquiries, booking and changing appointments, maintaining waiting lists, preparing correspondence, medical transcription, updating patient records, clinic administration and liaising with hospitals and clinics.
We can agree which tasks you would like us to manage so that the support fits naturally around the way your practice operates.
Can you communicate directly with my patients?
Yes. Where this forms part of the agreed service, we can communicate directly with patients on behalf of your practice, including responding to routine enquiries, arranging appointments and providing administrative information.
Communication is handled professionally and sensitively, with the aim of providing patients with a responsive and consistent experience of your practice.
What happens when you need information or a decision from me?
We aim to manage as much of the routine administration as possible without creating additional work for you. Where your input or a clinical decision is required, this will be clearly identified and brought to your attention rather than becoming lost amongst routine administrative queries.
Clear processes can also be established for how different types of queries should be handled and when something needs to be escalated to you.
Can you work alongside my existing secretary or practice team?
Yes. The service does not have to replace your existing arrangements. We can provide additional capacity, take responsibility for particular areas of administration or work alongside existing secretarial and practice staff.
The scope of support will be agreed from the outset so that responsibilities are clear and the service complements the people and processes you already have in place.

Still have questions?
